Clayton, New York

Clayton, New York
June 2010

I had a great outing this day and ran across this fabulous blue Bathtub Mary.  I went to the door of the house and asked if I could photograph it.  It is always better when you ask...and this guy was super excited to tell me about the work he did on her...the prep work, the paint, the lights he ran around the edge and the plantings.

He was very sweet and I got a new Mary for my collection!

Summer was taken up with my campaign for County Clerk
I found three new Bathtub Marys. This is the only picture I was able to get so far.
This is in the front yard of the patriarch of a couple of families that were on my list of Democrats in Brownville.
Now some of you don't live in places where being a Democrat is rare, but I do. I was gathering 1000 signatures in order to get on the ballot and was all over the county, knocking on doors and one family of Democrats lived in three houses, next to each other, along the same road and in the patriarch's yard, was this wonderful example.

Another is in Adams, NY on a hill near the bridge; I have to find it again and get a photo.
Another is in Watertown near my friend's brother's house; I have to get my camera over there too.
But three in one year! That is big!
Stay tuned and I will get those other's for my collection soon.

9/7/09
Today I found a new Bathtub Mary in Adams, NY and a Bathtub In Search of a Mary.
I have to go back to take pictures. I was in a parade and when I was walking by I spied them, but could not stop and take a picture...
It was very exciting! They are not getting any more common and I love that I am getting a couple new ones each year.
Stay tuned!

MARY IN FAIRIELAND

Found Mary in this position, in the back yard of a house in the back woods of upstate New York.
I pulled over and knocked on the owner's door and asked if I could take pictures. He thought I was a bit loony but said OK.

Looks like she is waiting for someone. You? Me?

She is located outside the Village of Croghan, somewhere near Soft Maple.

Number Four, New York

This is on the Number Four Road, outside Lowville, New York. It has been there for years and years and is one of the nicest, most well kept shrines I have seen.
